These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern access to and use of the Salted Shores website, game servers, Discord community, account system, APIs, memberships, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).
By accessing or using the Services, creating an account, linking a Steam or Discord account, or purchasing or receiving a membership or other benefit, you agree to these Terms.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old and otherwise legally permitted to use Steam, Discord, and the Services in your jurisdiction. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, you may use the Services only with any consent required by applicable law.
2. Accounts
You are responsible for activity performed through your Salted Shores account and for maintaining control of any Steam or Discord account linked to it.
You may not impersonate another person, access another user's account without authorization, evade account restrictions, or provide false information intended to defeat security or moderation systems.
Salted Shores may suspend, restrict, or terminate accounts when reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, community rules, security requirements, or applicable law.
3. Steam Integration
Salted Shores may use Steam OpenID, Steam Web APIs, game-server interfaces, or related Steam services.
When you authenticate with or link Steam, you authorize Salted Shores to receive your Steam identifier and to retrieve, use, associate, and cache Steam information made available through authorized Steam interfaces and permitted by applicable Steam terms.
This may include SteamID/SteamID64, profile name, profile URL, avatar, profile visibility, publicly available profile information, ban or restriction information, relevant game information, and timestamps showing when Steam information was retrieved or refreshed.
Salted Shores does not receive your Steam password through Steam OpenID.
Steam-derived information may be cached and periodically refreshed where reasonably necessary to operate the Services, maintain player records and statistics, perform moderation or security functions, and maintain historical or administrative records, subject to applicable law and Valve requirements.
Steam data and Steam-dependent features are provided without any guarantee that the underlying information is complete, current, accurate, or continuously available.
4. Discord Integration
Salted Shores may allow you to authenticate with or link a Discord account and may operate Discord bots or other Discord integrations.
When you authorize a Discord integration, Salted Shores may receive and use information made available through the permissions or OAuth scopes you approve, including Discord identifiers, usernames, display names, avatars, membership information, roles, and related account-linking information.
Discord-derived information is used and retained only as reasonably necessary for the Services, subject to Discord's applicable developer requirements and applicable law.
5. Game Server and Player Records
Salted Shores may create and maintain player records generated from game-server activity, moderation systems, linked accounts, authorized third-party services, and other lawful sources.
Records may include identifiers, connection history, moderation actions, bans, reports, server activity, statistics, security events, and other information reasonably relevant to operation of the Services.
Salted Shores may preserve historical records where reasonably necessary for moderation, abuse prevention, ban enforcement, security, dispute resolution, statistics, or service integrity.
6. Community Rules and Conduct
You must comply with all rules published for Salted Shores game servers, Discord communities, and other Services.
Prohibited conduct includes cheating, exploiting, harassment, ban evasion, spam, unauthorized automation, attacks on the Services, unauthorized access, manipulation of statistics or rankings, and conduct that violates applicable Steam, Discord, game, or platform rules.
Salted Shores may investigate suspected violations and take reasonable enforcement action.
7. Security and Abuse Prevention
You agree that Salted Shores may use technical and account information to protect the Services.
This may include associating account identifiers, Steam identifiers, Discord identifiers, IP addresses, request logs, connection records, and related security information where reasonably necessary to identify abuse, spam, evasion, unauthorized access, or coordinated activity.
8. Memberships, VIP Benefits, and Digital Benefits
Salted Shores may offer paid memberships, VIP access, ranks, perks, or other digital benefits.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, digital benefits have no cash value; benefits may be changed where reasonably necessary for balancing, technical, legal, or operational reasons; access may depend on continued operation of particular servers or Services; and suspension or banning for rule violations may result in loss of associated benefits.
Payments may be handled by a third-party payment processor or merchant of record. Additional payment-provider terms may apply.
9. Refunds and Chargebacks
Any refund rights provided by law or by the applicable payment provider remain unaffected.
Otherwise, digital memberships and benefits are generally non-refundable once delivered or activated unless Salted Shores expressly states otherwise.
Fraudulent chargebacks, payment abuse, or attempts to retain digital benefits after reversing payment may result in account restrictions or termination.
10. Availability and Changes
The Services are provided on an “as available” basis.
Salted Shores may modify, suspend, restart, wipe, migrate, discontinue, or replace any server, feature, statistic, integration, membership benefit, or other portion of the Services.
Salted Shores does not guarantee uninterrupted availability, preservation of game progress, preservation of rankings, or permanent availability of any particular feature.
11. Third-Party Services
The Services may depend on third parties including Steam, Discord, game publishers, hosting providers, payment providers, and network operators.
Salted Shores is not responsible for outages, errors, policy changes, account restrictions, data inaccuracies, or other acts or omissions of independent third parties.
References to third-party names or trademarks do not imply sponsorship or endorsement.
12. Intellectual Property
Salted Shores branding, original website content, graphics, software, databases, and other original materials are protected to the extent provided by applicable law.
Third-party trademarks, game assets, names, APIs, and content remain the property of their respective owners.
13. User Content
If the Services allow you to submit reports, messages, profile content, appeals, or other material, you remain responsible for that content.
You grant Salted Shores a non-exclusive license to host, reproduce, process, display, and retain submitted content as reasonably necessary to operate, moderate, secure, and maintain the Services.
14. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Services and third-party information displayed through them are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of uninterrupted operation, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or freedom from errors.
Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot legally be excluded.
15. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Salted Shores and its operators, administrators, contributors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from use of or inability to use the Services.
This includes, where legally permitted, loss of game progress, virtual items, rankings, membership time, data, profits, reputation, or access caused by outages, wipes, enforcement actions, third-party failures, or security incidents.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
16. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Salted Shores and its operators from claims, damages, liabilities, and reasonable costs resulting from your unlawful use of the Services, violation of these Terms, or infringement of another person's rights.
17. Termination
You may stop using the Services at any time.
Salted Shores may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary for rule enforcement, security, abuse prevention, legal compliance, payment disputes, or protection of the Services or community.
Termination does not automatically require deletion of records that Salted Shores may lawfully retain for security, moderation, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, legal compliance, or other legitimate purposes.
Privacy-related deletion requests are handled under the Privacy Policy and remain subject to applicable legal and platform requirements.
18. Changes to These Terms
Salted Shores may update these Terms when the Services, legal requirements, or third-party platform requirements change.
The current version will be published on the website with its effective or updated date. Continued use of the Services after an updated version becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms to the extent permitted by law.
19. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by applicable United States law and the law of the state in which Salted Shores is legally established, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

Salted Shores is an independent community and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Valve Corporation, Discord Inc., Facepunch Studios, or other third-party platform owners unless expressly stated otherwise.
